Cosy Haus. What does our name say about us? I hope it describes what I love and what is most important to me – lovely, beautiful, creative, comfortable and sometimes quirky things combined with a unique style I developed being greatly influenced by growing up in Germany. From as long as I can remember I have been a “homemaker” – obviously not in the usual sense of the word! As a young girl I spent hours arranging, rearranging and decorating the dolls house that was put out once a year during Christmas time. My great uncle had made lovely furniture for it, and I always came up with new bits for it too, intrigued by all things miniature (which really hasn’t changed as I still cannot resist to add more pieces found in Charity shops or self made items!).
My Mum loved making things all year round, and my fondest memories are those of the different seasons and all the related projects she did and materials she used. I would always want to have a go too!
So I’ve always loved crafts and making things that would look beautiful, things that would bring joy and that would be shared with friends! So for me it was never only about “stuff” or techniques, but about what you say through the gifts you give, the ornaments you put out…what it says about you, your plans, dreams and hopes.
